Today is day 2 of a writing prompt a day with the kiddo! Today though, my partner also joined in. It was interesting yet again to see where each story went when we were faced with the same prompt! We set a timer for 7 minutes (we’re working our way up to longer stretches to help kiddo improve their writing.)

Today’s prompt: You have a picnic with a goat in the rain

I’ll start off with my piece today:

Rainy days are both the best and the worst. Rain makes it hard to do outdoor things with other humans, and even some dogs. There is one friend though, who doesn’t mind the rain. When I woke up to grey skies and rain clouds today I knew just what to do!

I packed up a picnic basket with my favorite treats, as well as loads of veggies, hay and crackers. I threw on my wellies and rain parka and went out the door. I passed the cars in the drive. I turned past the barn, and headed to the shelter in the paddock. I could see my rainy weather friends off in the distance, though she hadn’t spotted me just yet.

I jumped the fence and landed in a mud puddle with a giant SPLOOSH sound. That caught her attention! She ran full speed towards me screaming the whole way. Her family just looked away, they weren’t keen on us unless we had food. They didn’t know what was in my basket.
